Every fact about Wardogs we can check, in one place: how a match works, every role, vehicle, gun, armor level, ammo type, unlock and price, and how fast every gun kills. Each table says how sure we are, and where sources disagree we show both numbers.
The game
What the developer has said about WARDOGS.
WARDOGS is a tactical all-out-warfare shooter. Everything in this box comes from the developer: the Steam store page and its announcements, including the Top Questions post of 18 February 2026.
| Developer and publisher | BULKHEAD (developer), Team17 (publisher). |
| Release | Steam Early Access, 10 September 2026. Windows only. Season 02 is announced for 15 October 2026. |
| Price on Steam | $39.99 USD on 4 October 2026. |
| Mode | Inspired by King of the Hill. Three teams fight for control of a randomised 2 × 2 km Control Zone inside a 256 km² map. The team with the most players in the zone earns points; the first team to reach 100 points wins. |
| Players | Up to 100 per match, split across three teams. Squads are unlimited in size. |
| Hot Zone | A shifting sub-zone inside the Control Zone. Players standing in it count double toward the player count, and it pays double cash. |
| Cash | Every player starts with $10,000. Each life you buy a loadout. Teamplay actions pay cash: revives, transporting friendlies to the zone, kills, spotting, controlling the objective. Cash persists from match to match. |
| Gold bars | Cash can be exchanged for gold bars, the endgame currency used to buy cosmetics in the Gold Market. |
| Progression | Six progression tracks of XP, from Medic to Pilot, plus the career (Wardog) level. Roles are not fixed classes: what you buy for a life decides what you do and what you earn XP in. |
| Voice | Proximity voice chat, plus squad tools and vehicle locking. |
| Setting | The war-torn region of Kolchia, in the derelict industrial mountains of Eastern Europe, fought over a resource called PV-1. |
| Engine | Unreal Engine 5 with the developer’s own War Dynamics Framework. |
| Monetisation | In February 2026 the developer said: no battle pass, no pay-to-win, cosmetics earned by playing. |
| PC, minimum | Windows 10, Intel Core i5-8600 or AMD Ryzen 5 3500, 16 GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 1660 or Radeon RX 590, 50 GB, 1080p Low at 60 fps (upscaled). |
| PC, recommended | Windows 11, Intel Core i7-12700K or AMD Ryzen 7 5700X, 16 GB RAM, Nvidia RTX 3070 or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT, 50 GB, 1440p Medium at 70 fps+ (native) or 4K Medium at 60 fps+ (upscaled). |
| Languages | English (full audio), French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Polish, Turkish, Ukrainian. |
New here? Five steps
- Find a server. Community Servers lists who is online, near you, and gives the ID to paste into the game’s Join by ID box.
- Learn the ground. The Atlas flies over Bakurani, Ozeti and Zestafona in 3D with every tower.
- Know what things cost. Roles, guns, armor and unlocks are below, with kill times for every gun.
- Call in artillery. Rainmaker works out the direction and angle for the mortar and the howitzer.
- Build a base. Groundwork plans a FOB in 3D and adds up its Build Supplies.
What the developer has patched so far
The five newest posts are below (dates are UTC). Every test, build and patch since the February reveal, with what each changed and how sure we are, is in History and patches.
| Date | Official post | What it changed |
|---|---|---|
| 2026-10-02 | IR Goggles & CIWS Balance Hotfix | The IR rangefinders are taken out of the vendor until Season 02, when they will need batteries. The CIWS now destroys the Havoc in about 6 seconds, not 12. |
| 2026-10-02 | Security & Stability Hotfix | A one-hour hotfix for minor security and stability problems. |
| 2026-09-30 | Update 0.1.2 | Cash and XP exploits fixed (revive checks are now decided by the server, vehicle fly-through rewards are capped, rewards for destroying buildables scale with build progress, depositing pallets outside the zone pays less). Windows 11 WD-L020 crash fixed. New Deploy screen to Official, Community, Infantry Mode and Low-Level servers. Throwables cannot be used from enclosed vehicle seats. Havoc no longer takes extra damage from 20 mm and 30 mm cannons. |
| 2026-09-22 | Season 02 Teaser | Season 02 starts on 15 October 2026. |
| 2026-09-12 | SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE & PATCH 0.11 | The server browser is split into Official and Community. Community server IDs now persist. Cash exploits and GPU crashes fixed. More server capacity in Asia. The developer states its stance on economy abuse (cash and XP reset, timed bans, permanent bans for XP farming). |
Balance and numbers can change every season: the developer says each season gets a different XP curve and item order. Everything on this page was checked on 4 October 2026 against Update 0.1.2 and the 2 October hotfixes. All official posts.
Teams and maps
Three teams, three maps.
| Team | Colour | Who they are (developer’s words) |
|---|---|---|
| Lonestar | blue | The heavy-hitters in the Western paramilitary world. |
| Valkyra | red | Aims to return the Soviet People’s Republic to greatness. |
| Manticore | green | The Kingdom of Persia, Tehran’s shadow army. |
From the developer’s Q&A. This site’s map data has one HQ and one spawn area per team on each map; the Atlas shows them.
The three maps
| Map | Control areas | Spawn towns | Named zones | Control towers | Playable area (Atlas data) | HQ to HQ (Lonestar–Valkyra / Lonestar–Manticore / Valkyra–Manticore) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bakurani | Farmland, Lumberyard | Liknisi, Chuta, Khevuli, Baghi | 60 | 5 | 11.0 × 11.0 km | 5.0 / 6.5 / 7.9 km |
| Ozeti | Farmland, Church, River | Stuttgart, Calais, Barcelona, Malaga, Rennes, Hanover, Granada, Bremen | 55 | 4 | 8.5 × 7.8 km | 6.4 / 5.9 / 7.2 km |
| Zestafona | Small Factory, Water Treatment, Houses | Austin, Chicago, Boston | 56 | 3 | 10.5 × 9.1 km | 6.5 / 6.1 / 6.6 km |
Control areas, spawn towns and the number of named zones: WikiTactics maps, which says its overlays reflect beta layouts. Towers, playable area and HQ distances are this site’s own map data from the game’s team and tower positions (the Atlas draws them in 3D). The three map names match the game files; one older fan wiki calls two of them “Europe” and “North America”.
Levels, XP and unlocks
How progression works.
Reaching a level only shows you an item in the vendor. To buy it you also pay a one-time unlock fee, and after that the normal shop price every time you buy it for a life.
| Track | Unlocks | Last level with an unlock | All unlock fees together |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wardog (career) | 58 | 150 | $2,787,500 |
| Assault | 33 | 50 | $965,000 |
| Medic | 36 | 50 | $1,040,000 |
| Recon | 49 | 50 | $2,022,500 |
| Support | 31 | 50 | $1,240,000 |
| Driver | 15 | 35 | $1,174,750 |
| Pilot | 11 | 35 | $959,750 |
Wardog level is the sum of your six role levels Verified. The New Recruit discount halves vendor prices (not unlock fees) below Wardog level 9: two guides state it (GetRankd, AllThings) but the developer’s notes do not mention it. WikiTactics calls the Assault track “Infantry”.
The developer says it slowed levels 10 to 20 and flattened the curve from 35 on, so a median player at 20 to 25 hours is around level 20 and the “big-ticket items” take real grinding (Season 1 changelog).
XP needed per role level, 1 to 100Cumulative XP for a role track. The six roles share one curve. The ten levels marked Official are the developer’s own numbers; the rest come from WikiTactics’ copy of the game data.OfficialSingle source

Money and the economy
What things pay, and how much.
Cash is the point of the game: you buy a loadout every life, and you earn the money back by helping your team. The developer says every teamplay action pays and the Hot Zone pays double (developer Q&A). The exact amounts below are read from the reward tables in the retail game files by WikiTactics.
| Action | Cash outside any zone | Notes | Control Zone | Hot Zone | Role XP |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Player kill | $300 | $350 for a headshot, $250 for an artillery kill, +$50 per step of a kill streak (up to 5) | ×5 | ×10 | 250 (275 headshot) |
| Destroy a Kodiak | $625 | ×0.8 for each extra crew member | ×2 | ×4 | 150 |
| Destroy a Little Bird | $1,562 | ×2 | ×4 | 150 | |
| Destroy a heavy tank | $7,000 | +$600 per step of a kill streak (up to 10) | ×2 | ×4 | 750 |
| Revive a teammate (no item) | $400 | paid on where the revived player is | ×2 | ×4 | 200 |
| Revive with a stim pen | $600 | named as in the game data | ×2 | ×4 | 200 |
| Revive with a defibrillator | $600 | ×2 | ×4 | 250 | |
| Revive with a medkit | $700 | ×2 | ×4 | 250 | |
| Spot an enemy player | $100 | half when a spot is refreshed | ×1 | ×1 | 25 |
| Spot an enemy Little Bird | $250 | half when a spot is refreshed | ×1 | ×1 | 25 |
| A passenger you carried survives a trip | $500 | ×1 | ×2 | 100 | |
| Deploy a small supply crate | $250 | large crate $500, supply pallet $1,250 | ×2 | ×2 | 200 |
| Activate the Hot Zone magnet (a finished Drill Rig) | $2,500 | 500 | |||
| Be in the Control Zone | $200 | each presence payout | – | ||
| Be in the Hot Zone | $400 | each presence payout, +$50 per consecutive one (up to 10) | – | ||
| Finish the match first / second / third | $1,000 / $500 / $250 | end-of-match team reward | – |
These are the game’s client-side reward formulas before the server applies anything else, so live payouts can differ; they are not a guaranteed amount. For a normal kill the zone factor is the average of where you stand and where the victim stands. Rewards also shrink for repeat victims (24% less per recent repeat, up to four). A revenge kill pays ×2, ending an enemy’s kill streak ×1.5, a teammate kill costs $900 (−3 × the base $300), and killing someone an enemy has just revived pays almost nothing (×0.01). Sniper kills count only the victim’s zone and are multiplied by a distance curve: ×1.5 at 300 m, ×2 at 400 m, ×2.5 at 500 m, ×3 at 600 m, ×3.25 at 700 m, ×3.5 at 800 m and ×4 from 900 m (precision artillery kills: up to ×1.5 at 1,500 m). Source: WikiTactics cash and XP calculator, read 4 October 2026 from tables DT_ChallengeRewards_*. Update 0.1.2 changed some reward rules (server-checked revives, capped fly-through rewards, build-progress scaling) without publishing new numbers.
What else costs money: a Forward Operating Base kit is $7,500 and a Large Hammer $2,400 (both raised in Season 1). Prices of every item are in the sections below.
Callsigns (the six roles)
Pilot, driver, medic, recon, support, assault.
Roles are not classes. What you buy for a life decides what you do, and each of the six tracks levels from the items of its kind. Open a role for what it unlocks, what the items cost and how it earns.
PilotHelicopters: transport, supply crates and gunships.

| 4 | AH-6M [Miniguns] | $50,000 | $7,000 | 1 Pilot + 1 Passenger | 350 km/h |

| 25 | Z20 Lakota [Miniguns] | $75,000 | $8,000 | 1 Pilot + 2 Gunners + 10 Passengers | 445 km/h |
| 30 | Helikopter - Fazlija | $10,000 | – | ||
| 35 | Havoc | $500,000 | $18,000 | 1 Pilot + 1 Gunner | 400 km/h |
Aircraft prices are per spawn (per life). “Price per spawn” and crew come from the retail data; the Havoc and the armed helicopters carry weapons the pilot or a gunner fires. Radio tapes are cosmetic music.
Pilots earn from flying passengers into the zone (a surviving passenger pays $500, and more in the Hot Zone), deploying supply crates and pallets, and kills. See Money. Kills made from an air vehicle give 250 XP.

Also on the Driver track but bought differently: the Flakpanzer Gepard (anti-air tank, 800 hull health) is in the game data but not listed in the shop; the M113 APC (10 seats, 1,000 hull health, one per team) has no price. The SPH-2 howitzer unlocks on the Wardog track at level 90, not on Driver (see Vehicles).
Driver XP comes from distance driven, passenger deliveries and supply runs (community guides; the game data lists “passenger survives a trip” and “deploy a supply crate” as paid events, see Money).

A revive pays more than a kill outside the zones ($400 to $700 against $300) and its Control Zone and Hot Zone multipliers are smaller than a kill’s, but a revive also puts a body back into your team’s zone count. See Money.
Every Medic unlock is in the Medic ladder.

Spotting is a paid event on its own: $100 for an enemy player and $250 for an enemy Little Bird, half when a spot is refreshed. The infrared range finder is out of the vendor until Season 02 (developer hotfix, 2 October). Every Recon unlock is in the Recon ladder.

Support and buildingHammers, drills, mines, C4, machine guns and launchers.
Support is the building and heavy-weapons track: the hammers, drills for repairs, anti-tank mines, C4, machine guns, launchers and the shotgun. Activating the Hot Zone magnet (a finished Drill Rig) pays $2,500 and 500 XP. The full structure list is in Building and the planner is Groundwork.

AssaultAssault rifles, their magazines and attachments.
Assault is the rifleman’s track (WikiTactics lists it as “Infantry”). It unlocks the assault rifles, their magazines and attachments. A kill pays $300 outside the zones; the game multiplies it by up to ×5 in the Control Zone and ×10 in the Hot Zone (see Money). Kill times for every gun are in Time to kill.
Every Assault unlock is in the Assault ladder.

Vehicles
Every vehicle: price, unlock, seats, speed, toughness.
Every vehicle in the game data, with what it costs per spawn, what it takes to unlock, and how tough it is. Unlock level and track agree between WikiTactics and MetaBot, the six fees the developer published agree with the changelog, and top speed, hull health and price agree with TechWiser’s table of 12 September.

Seats are the total (pilot or driver + gunners + passengers); sources split them differently. The AH-6M and AH-6R carry a pilot and one passenger, no supply crates. Hull health is the main body; engines, wheels, tracks, fuel tanks and rotors have their own health in the data. “Bullet damage” is the game data’s base modifier for bullets (−95% means a bullet does 5% of its normal damage to the vehicle; −100% is immune); some vehicles carry a separate armor-piercing modifier. “Not in the shop” means the retail data marks it unlisted: older guides quote $8,000 to $10,000 for the Gepard, which we cannot confirm. The M113 exists once per team (Lonestar, Manticore, Valkyra). Sources: WikiTactics vehicles, MetaBot vehicles. Some older fan sites list different gates for these vehicles because they were recorded in the closed alpha.
Guns
34 guns, every number checked.
Every gun that can be bought. Base hit damage is the number in the game data; chest and head are what MetaBot measured in the Firing Range (about 20 m, no armor). For the 27 bullet guns with a measured value those equal base damage × the class multiplier exactly, which is how we know the base numbers are right. Click a heading to sort.

Price is what one life with the gun costs; the unlock fee is paid once. Compared by script: price against WikiTactics, WardogsDB and MetaBot; fire rate against WikiTactics, WardogsDB and WARDOGS HQ; unlock track, level and fee against WikiTactics and MetaBot (level); effective range against WikiTactics and WardogsDB; weight across all three; base damage against WARDOGS HQ and MetaBot’s measurements; muzzle velocity against WikiTactics. “Effective range” is the distance the game data lists; whether damage drops beyond it is disputed (see Time to kill). “Check” says how well the numbers in that row are settled; the notes below say what is not.
Notes on individual gunsWhat is unsettled or worth knowing, gun by gun.Disputed
- A-91: Semi or burst only. The rate of fire is the speed inside a burst; the pause between bursts is not counted in kill times.
- Bushmaster M17S: Semi or burst only. The rate of fire is the speed inside a burst; the pause between bursts is not counted in kill times.
- KH-2002: Semi or burst only. The rate of fire is the speed inside a burst; the pause between bursts is not counted in kill times.
- T-21: Its range is listed as 550 m, but its published kill times (WARDOGS HQ) use full damage out to 300 m only.
- PKM: The game data has no fire rate for it. MetaBot measured up to 865 RPM and this site uses 850; an earlier list says 605 and a pre-release list 600. At 850 RPM it needs two chest hits and would out-kill every other gun, so its kill times are unconfirmed.
- AMR 50: Damage beyond 2,000 m is not published. One chest hit kills an unarmored player; Level 2 armor or better makes it two hits.
- M500: Listed as 25 damage × 8 pellets. MetaBot measured about 104 on the chest from 20 m. Pellet spread and any falloff are unmeasured.
- MP43: Listed as 25 damage × 8 pellets. MetaBot measured about 104 on the chest from 20 m. Pellet spread and any falloff are unmeasured.
- GGX 17: The game data has no fire rate for it. MetaBot measured up to 482 RPM; 450 is assumed here (a pre-release list says 600).
- Judge: Not on the WARDOGS HQ chart, so its kill times here are calculated with the same method.
- M1911: Some wikis list 30 base damage. The chest damage MetaBot measured (45.06) and the published kill-time charts both fit 39.
- Compound Bow: Listed damage is 77. Measured: 160.95 to the chest and 177.12 to the head, so an unarmored player dies in one hit. How armor changes that is unmeasured, and draw time is not modelled.
- 9K333 Verba: Anti-air launcher. The data gives its round 100 damage; blast radius and vehicle damage are not published.
- MAAWS: Anti-tank launcher. The data gives its round 100 damage; blast radius and vehicle damage are not published.
- MGL-40: Grenade launcher. The data gives its round 100 damage; blast radius is not published.
- RPG-7: Rocket launcher. The data gives its round 110 damage; blast radius and vehicle damage are not published.
Three more weapons exist in the game data but are not for sale: the AT4, the Browning MG and the M12G shotgun.
Time to kill
How fast every gun kills, against every armor level.
How long a gun needs to put a 100-health player down, counted from the first shot to the killing shot, when every shot hits the torso at close range with standard (FMJ) rounds and the armor holds. Each cell reads “time · shots”. A one-shot kill is “instant”: the clock only runs between shots, so bullet travel time is not included, and real fights are slower because shots miss.

Verified: all 120 cells for the 24 guns on the WARDOGS HQ chart equal ours, and the damage per hit behind them equals what MetaBot measured. The rows marked Calculated are the PKM, GGX 17 and Judge, which that chart leaves out; we use the same method. The PKM has no fire rate in the game data: at 850 RPM it would be the fastest gun of all (71 ms with no armor, 282 ms against Armor 4), but that rests on an unconfirmed fire rate, so it is left out of the “fastest” cards. Armor takes 30%, 40%, 55% and 65% off torso damage for vests and helmets alike (measured, see Armor). The three burst rifles (A-91, Bushmaster M17S, KH-2002) are counted at their rate inside a burst; the pause between bursts is not included. The shotguns and the bow are not in the table because their damage per pellet or per arrow is not settled.

Kill times at rangeDisputed: do bullets lose damage with distance?ModelDisputed
WARDOGS HQ’s chart and WikiTactics both describe a “curved falloff”: every gun keeps full damage out to a set distance, then loses it. The WARDOGS Builder says the opposite, that damage does not fall off in this game, and MetaBot measured only at about 20 m. Nobody has published a measurement at long range. So treat every range-dependent number as a model:

Full-damage range is where the model’s curve starts to drop (it falls in a straight line to 20% of damage at 1,200 m, which is how WARDOGS HQ draws it); our 100/300/500 m figures equal theirs where they publish them. It is a model, not a test.
Armor
What each level blocks, weighs and costs.
Vests and helmets come in four levels. A level takes a fixed share off every standard (FMJ) hit that lands on a covered body part, and its durability is how much it can absorb. Heavier armor protects more and weighs much more.
Armor and helmets
| Piece | Blocks | Durability | Covers | Weight | Price per life | Unlock (track level · fee) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Level 1 Armor | 30% | 200 | torso | 3.0 kg | $400 | Wardog 3 · $10,000 |
| Level 1 Helmet | 30% | 80 | head | 1.0 kg | $200 | Wardog 3 · $7,500 |
| Level 2 Armor | 40% | 220 | torso | 4.5 kg | $1,000 | Wardog 30 · $50,000 |

| Level 4 Helmet | 65% | 200 | head, neck | 4.5 kg | $3,000 | Wardog 100 · $150,000 |
Verified between WikiTactics and MetaBot (price, weight and unlock level of all eight pieces). The unlock fee for a vest and its helmet is paid together at the same level. The blocks column is WikiTactics’ “reduction” field. MetaBot says the exact percentages are not shown in the game; DQ7 measured them (below). Ghillie suits: a body suit (Recon 24, $80,000 to unlock, $3,000 per life) and headwear (Recon 24, $60,000, $2,500) that must be worn together; they hide you from infrared range finders and remove the death camera after a kill.
What a hit does through armor (measured)
| Armor on the chest | .308 FMJ damage through it | Share of the unarmored hit | Listed reduction |
|---|---|---|---|
| No armor | 66.01 | 100.0% | |
| Level 1 | 46.21 | 70.0% | 30% |
| Level 2 | 39.61 | 60.0% | 40% |
| Level 3 | 29.72 | 45.0% | 55% |
| Level 4 | 23.11 | 35.0% | 65% |
A .308 rifle hit to the chest, measured at the Firing Range by DQ7: 66.01 unarmored, then 46.21, 39.61, 29.72 and 23.11. Each is 1 minus the listed reduction, so the 30/40/55/65% figures are measured, not assumed.
Where on the body
| Class | Head | Chest (upper torso) | Torso (centre) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Assault rifles | ×2.35 | ×1.10 | ×1.0 |
| SMGs and pistols | ×2.10 | ×1.155 | ×1.05 |

| Marksman rifles | ×2.50 | ×1.43 | ×1.30 |
| Sniper rifles | ×3.20 | ×1.98 | ×1.45 |
Head and chest damage is base damage × these numbers; we checked it against the damage MetaBot measured for 27 bullet guns and every one matches. Torso is what the kill times use. Vests cover the upper, middle and lower torso; the Level 4 vest adds the pelvis and upper arms. Helmets cover the head; Levels 3 and 4 add the neck. Forearms, thighs, shins, hands and feet are never covered. Weight matters: the whole kit (vest, backpack, magazines, weapon, utility) decides your weight class, not the armor alone. DQ7 measured Medium at −12% top speed, −10% jump height, +5% aim-down-sights time and −35% stamina regeneration, and Heavy at −19%, −14%, +14%, +50% lean time and no Tactical Sprint (ordinary sprint still works). The weight thresholds are not published.

DQ7 measured 12.62 damage on an unarmored lower limb with a 5.56 rifle that does 30.82 to the chest, which is ×0.45 of the 28 base damage. That agrees with this table and not with the Lab’s flat ×0.90 for limbs.

Verified: hollow point does ×2.0 and armor piercing ×0.8 to an unarmored target (MetaBot measured it on seven calibers; DQ7 on the 5.56 and .308). Measured against Level 4 armor (DQ7, chest): with a 5.56 rifle FMJ 10.80 damage (10 shots to kill), hollow point 0.43 (41 shots) and armor piercing 15.05 (7 shots); with the .308 FAL FMJ 23.11 (5 shots) and armor piercing 35.65 (3 shots), which is ×0.54 and ×0.488 of the unarmored hit and matches the table; a Level 4 helmet still dies to a 2-shot AP headshot. DQ7 also found FMJ ahead of AP against no armor and Levels 1 and 2, and AP gaining ground from Level 3. Everything else in the table is a model fitted to those measurements and to the WARDOGS Lab and Builder guides, which differ by a few points for hollow point at Levels 1 to 3 (Lab 30/22/9%, Builder 33/24/11%). MetaBot notes that the Firing Range has no armored targets, so nobody has measured the small calibers against armor.

Building
Hammers, FOBs and every structure.
You build with a hammer and Build Supplies. Small structures need no FOB; everything bigger needs a deployed Forward Operating Base, whose radius is where you can place them. The planner for all of this is Groundwork.
| Tool | Unlock | Price per life | Weight | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Forward Operating Base | from the start | $7,500 | 6.5 kg | Needed to Build Larger Structures.; Can hold Items & Resources for Players to Use.; Provides a Radius in Which Players Can Build. |
| Large Hammer | Support 8 · $75,000 | $2,400 | 3.18 kg | Can Build ALL Buildables; Fast Build Speed; Requires Build Supplies to Use |
| Medium Hammer | Support 3 · $25,000 | $800 | 1.23 kg | Used to Build Large and Basic Buildables Only; Moderate Build Speed; Requires Build Supplies to Use |
| Small Hammer | from the start | $100 | 0.32 kg | Used to Build Small Buildables Only; Slow Build Speed; Requires Build Supplies to Use |
Official: the Forward Operating Base kit rose from $2,500 to $7,500 and the Large Hammer from $1,600 to $2,400 in Season 1, and the Medium and Large Hammer unlock fees rose to $25,000 and $75,000 (changelog).

A deployed FOB has 15,000 health and takes 5 C4 charges to destroy. The structure costs are Build Supplies. See Groundwork for the 3D planner and the building guide.
Artillery
The mortar and the howitzer.
Two guns shoot over hills: the L81 mortar you build at a FOB and the SPH-2 self-propelled howitzer. Aim them with Rainmaker, which works out the direction and the barrel angle for any two points on the map.
| Gun | Where you get it | Range | Barrel angle | Rounds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| L81 mortar (a Mortar emplacement) | built at a FOB (150 supplies in WikiTactics, 121 in Groundwork) | 132 – 684 m | 150 – 850 mil | 81 mm mortar rounds: 120 damage, 10 per stack (“ammo for the buildable mortar”) |
| SPH-2 howitzer (vehicle) | Wardog 90 · $500,000, $8,000 per spawn, crew 3, 650 hull health | 780 – 2,629 m | 20 – 1,390 mil | L52 cannon (and an M249 machine gun) |
Ranges and firing tables come from the open-source wardogs-calculator project, which collects community measurements; they are flat-ground numbers, and hills and the game’s own scatter move shells. The retail data also lists a 155 mm HE shell (450 damage, “very large area of effect”, 42 kg, $120 for 2) and a 122 mm HE rocket (100 damage, “large area of effect”, 3 for $450); it does not say which gun fires which. A mil is 1/6,400 of a circle.
Unlock ladders
Every unlock, every track, every fee.
Every unlock on every track: the level at which an item appears, and the one-time fee to buy the right to buy it. A fee covers every item listed at the same level. “With the item above” means a free extra such as a gun’s first magazine.

XP events
- Player kill using an air vehicle: 300 XP to 250 XP.
- Supply crate item sold under $75: 25 XP to 1 XP. The crate price curve was rescaled from 25 to 250 down to 1 to 200, so cheap items cannot be farmed.
Everything else in the post
- Exploits: a church-roof position was closed.
- Reports and bans: a new report tracker; repeat and bad-faith reporters carry less weight; cheater bans announced in the server when match termination is off; the “kicked from server” message only shows after a real ban.
- Server browser: filtering reworked; community server images scale correctly; the Host button goes straight to the hosting page.
- Voice: voice no longer cuts out for good after a failed join; better under load; a visible communication status.
- Vehicles: Z20 Lakota balance pass and pitch fix; helicopter input damping on every device; turrets have a top rotation speed; a tank-aiming DPI bug fixed; Lakota chase-camera rattle down 6 dB; 155 mm, 122 mm and flare deployables take more loadout room.
- Performance: DLSS Frame Generation can be turned off without a restart; shadows clamp to Low on high benchmark scores instead of turning off; about a dozen crash paths closed; dropped items no longer affect navigation.
Checked: all ten XP pairs, all fourteen prices and all unlock-level moves above equal the official post. Five other sites that transcribe it (WARDOGS Hub, EdgeGamers, Gfinity, a fan wiki and Mein-MMO) print the same pairs; WikiTactics’ update page repeats the prices and levels. Those copies are not independent of the developer, so the badge stays Official.
Secondary copies: WARDOGS Hub, patch notes · EdgeGamers patch log · Gfinity, Season 1 changelog · WARDOGS Wiki (fan), Season 1 · WikiTactics updates · MetaBot patch notes.
Launch Stability Hotfix #1: 10 September, 20:20 UTCA forced client update four hours after unlock.Official
Everyone logged in had to close WARDOGS and update on relaunch; everyone then went back into the login queue and was let in in controlled batches, widened as players got into servers. Fixes: players unable to join, players kicked mid-match, long queue times. No balance, price or progression change.
Patch 0.11: announced 12 September, deployed 14 September 08:00 UTCThe server browser patch and the economy-abuse policy.Official
- Servers down about one hour on Monday 14 September.
- The browser is split into Community and Official. Official has no filters (they came back in 0.1.2). Community gets more reliable filters, a text search and a Show Empty/Full toggle.
- Community server IDs persist through map changes and restarts; each server has its own, much longer, ID.
- Server names must sort alphabetically and cannot contain more than one space in a row.
- For one week Community servers paid a 5% end-of-match cash bonus, as an apology for neglecting them.
- Various cash exploits and more GPU crashes fixed; more server capacity in Asia.
- Economy abuse: abusing a cash exploit = timed ban plus cash and XP reset to 0; making content that teaches an exploit = permanent ban; more than a few minutes in an XP-farming server = permanent ban.
- Planned, not yet shipped then: Community favouriting, tiered priority queues, a message of the day, better warm-ups, no AFK kick while seeding, team-switch controls.
Official post. The post is titled “Patch 0.11” and the next one “Update 0.1.2”; the developer’s own numbering.
Update 0.1.2: 30 September 2026, servers down from 08:00 UTCCrash fix, exploits, the Deploy screen and server-admin tools.Official
- WD-L020 crash fixed (caused by Windows 11 update KB5124010).
- Cash and XP: revive checks decided by the server; vehicle fly-through rewards capped; rewards for destroying buildables scale with build progress; depositing pallets into a FOB outside the zone pays less. Anyone caught abusing exploits or trading for real money has had cash and progress reset; leniency for first offences is over.
- Deploy screen: choose Official, Community, Infantry Mode or Low-Level servers. Advanced Filters are back on the Official list. Long server names are no longer cut off; Join shows connecting then queue place; Anonymous mode hides the server name on the loading screen; region select counts regions; gamepad works on Deploy.
- Server admins: daily restart time (UTC), RCON allowed-hosts list, capped RCON message length, RCON defaults to Standard detail, ServerImageURL checked on load.
- Fixes: no throwables (grenades, smoke, C4) from enclosed vehicle seats; the adaptive crosshair hides when aiming; buildable crit spots no longer jump; a Havoc bug that took extra damage from 20 mm and 30 mm cannons.
- Season 02 is called “a larger content update, with new map conditions, equipment, balance reworks and additional features”.
Official post · EdgeGamers patch log (copy of the Season 1 notes).
2 October 2026: two hotfixesA one-hour restart, then a server-side balance change.Official
- Security and Stability Hotfix: servers down 08:00 UTC for about an hour. No list of changes was published.
- IR Goggles and CIWS (post at 15:39 UTC): within 12 hours of server restarts the IR Rangefinders are switched off in the vendor until Season 02, when they will need batteries (“too overpowered”). The CIWS now kills a Havoc in about 6 seconds instead of 12; the developer says an earlier patch over-corrected it. No download or downtime.
Notice · Balance post. The post spells it “CIWS”; one fan site writes “CWIS”.

Both betas ran as a separate Steam app, “WARDOGS Playtest” (app 4809930 per WARDOGS Hub), so a chart of the main game for those weekends is flat. Alpha and beta progress did not carry into Early Access.
Changes made after the Closed Alpha (14 August)
| Area | What the notes say |
|---|---|
| New | New Early Access supporter identity and icons. Tutorial (first-time user) video and audio updated for the beta. |
| Combat | Pistols buffed (better damage across the board). AK74, Galil, M4 and FAL handle better inside their effective ranges. 122 mm does less damage to air vehicles, so follow-up shots are needed. |
| Progression and money | Gepard removed from the unlock tracks and the vendor. Kill-streak bonuses removed from sniper kills in No Man’s Land. Level-up costs raised across all levels past 15. Vehicle and weapon unlock costs raised in every class. Garage-vendor magazines show why they are locked. Rebuy no longer breaks after a vehicle purchase. |
| Vehicles and zone | Held vehicle inputs (handbrake, collective, brake) no longer drop when the interaction menu opens. Reverse speed no longer doubles on a throttle tap. The Havoc can spawn in the shooting range. Towers no longer eat dropped items. The Hot Zone magnet no longer leaves the zone permanently smaller. HOTAS bindings persist and axis dead zones no longer stack. |
| Settings | New Background FPS Limit (10 fps minimised or alt-tabbed, 60 on the front end). The cycle-sights bind moved to Left Alt on the aim mapping. |
Single source: one fan site reproduces these as “partial” notes, labelled as the first changes after the Alpha, and says the design team was still collating the full list. We found no official copy, so it is not Official. Gepard: these notes remove it from unlocks and the vendor, yet by launch WikiTactics lists it with no unlock or price while a guide and WARDOGS Hub say $10,000; see Sources and checks. DaOpa fan site, “Closed Beta patch notes, August 14th”.

Where the history sources disagree
| Question | What the sources say | What we use |
|---|---|---|
| When was it announced? | 5 Feb 2026 (Games Press release, Wikipedia, a PCGamesN article posted to Steam on 5 Feb 15:21 UTC). The Steam trailer post is 9 Feb 01:02 UTC (8 Feb in the US). WARDOGS Hub dates the reveal 9 Feb. | 5 Feb for the announcement, 9 Feb for the Steam post. |
| When did the Closed Beta start? | 21 to 23 Aug (Steam post, WARDOGS Hub, MetaForge, Tech Times) against 22 Aug (Wikipedia). | 21 Aug. The servers ran to 02:00 UTC on 24 Aug, so “21 to 24” is also seen. |
| Closed Beta 02 peak | 245,118 at 17:38 UTC on 5 Sep (SteamDB, via Tech Times) against 244,926 at 21:04 UTC (WARDOGS Hub’s own sampling, “at least”). | Both shown. Neither is an official number. |
| Date of the 428,666 record | 13 Sep 19:44 UTC (SteamDB, WARDOGS Hub) against 12 Sep (one fan wiki). | 13 Sep. |
| Launch-day peak | 337,157 (WARDOGS Hub, a fan wiki) and 340,171 about 40 minutes before 01:05 UTC on 11 Sep (WARDOGS Hub). | Not used; the record of 428,666 is. |
| Patch names | The developer titles its posts “Patch 0.11” and “Update 0.1.2”. One fan site writes “Patch 0.1.1”. | The developer’s titles. |
| Time of the 0.1.2 post | 06:57 UTC (Steam’s feed) against 05:57 UTC (WARDOGS Hub). Both agree on the 08:00 UTC restart. | We give only the restart time. |
| How often a point is scored | Every 10 seconds (Wikipedia) against every 30 seconds (MilSim Units, the week of the Alpha). The developer’s posts say only that the team with the most players in the zone earns points. | Not stated on this Wiki. |
| How many weapons or vehicles | 25 or 33 weapons and 20 vehicles in the Alpha vendor (WARDOGS Hub, two different pages); 37 weapons and 21 vehicle types at launch (Tech Times); 34 guns in our catalogue (WikiTactics). They count different things (launchers, bows, variants). | Our own count, from the catalogue. |
| Gepard | Removed from unlocks and the vendor in the 14 Aug notes (one fan site). At launch: no unlock or price (WikiTactics), $10,000 (guide, WARDOGS Hub). | No price shown. |
Checked 4 October 2026 against the developer’s announcements (every one, through Steam’s public API) and the sources linked in each row. Anything with one source is labelled Single source.
Questions
Short answers, each with the facts behind it.
What do I start with?
$10,000 in cash, for every player (developer Q&A). In the shop the Bushmaster M17S, A-91 and KH-2002 rifles cost $0, so a first life can cost almost nothing. See Guns.
Does my cash go when the match ends?
No. The developer says cash persists from match to match, and that you can exchange it for gold bars, which buy cosmetics in the Gold Market.
Why can I see an item but not buy it?
Two things gate an item: its level on one of the seven tracks, and a one-time unlock fee. Reaching the level only shows the item in the vendor. After you pay the fee you pay the shop price each time you buy it for a life. Every level and fee is in Unlock ladders.
What is the Hot Zone?
A shifting sub-zone inside the Control Zone. Players inside it count double toward the zone count, and it pays double the cash of the Control Zone. See Money.
Do I have to pick a class?
No. The developer says roles are player-defined: what you buy for a life decides what you do, and you earn XP on the tracks of the items you use.
What are the Official, Community, Infantry Mode and Low-Level servers?
Official servers are run by the developer and have no modified game modes (Patch 0.11). Community servers are run by players. Since Update 0.1.2 the Deploy screen also offers “Infantry Mode” and “Low-Level” servers; the notes do not say what their rules are. The server list shows who is online.
Why do other sites show different numbers?
Because the game has no public data export. Every other source reads the game files or measures in the game, and some were recorded before launch. We compare them and show both numbers where they differ: see Sources, checks and disagreements.
Will these numbers change?
Yes. The developer says each season gets a different XP curve and item order, and Season 02 starts on 15 October 2026. Prices and unlock levels also change in patches; the page says which game version it was checked against.
Is this site official?
No. It is fan-made and not connected to the developers.

Sources, checks and disagreements
How we know, and where we do not.
This page is only worth reading if the numbers are right, so every table says how sure we are and where the numbers come from. On 4 October 2026 we compared 982 values across these sources by script (the script and the saved pages are in the project: scripts/wiki_data.py, ref/wiki-verification.md).
The badges
Where the numbers come from
| Source | What kind | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| WARDOGS on Steam | Official | The store page and every announcement, read through Steam’s public API on 4 October 2026. |
| WikiTactics | Game data | A catalogue read from the retail game files; says so on its Sources page. Unlock ladders, vehicles, armor, ammo, attachments and equipment come from here. Its data was corrected on 20 September. |
| MetaBot | Game data and measurement | In-game data, plus damage measured in the Firing Range: chest and head damage for every gun, and the hollow-point and armor-piercing multipliers. |
| WARDOGS HQ | Model | Time-to-kill chart built from a game-data snapshot. We compared every cell with ours. |
| DQ7 Reimagined | Measurement | Armor and ammo tests: damage through each armor level, the 5.56 results, weight-class penalties. |
| WARDOGS Lab | Guide | Damage, armor and ammo numbers by class; its limb numbers disagree with DQ7’s measurement. |
| WARDOGS Builder | Measurement and claims | Ammunition pricing and the claim that damage does not fall off with range. |
| WardogsDB | Catalogue | Prices, fire rates and ranges for every gun. |
| GetRankd, AllThings, BoostRoom | Guides | Unlock lists and role guides. GetRankd’s list is the closed-beta catalogue with the Season 1 changes applied on top. |
| Wardogs Zone | Game data | Structure costs, sizes and health, as used by Groundwork. |
| wardogs-calculator | Open source | Mortar and howitzer firing tables. |
Nothing here comes from the game developers except what the Steam page and announcements say. The game has no public data export, so every other source reads the game files or measures in the game. We do not use sources that say they were recorded before launch, except to point out where they differ. Season 02 starts on 15 October 2026 and will change numbers.
Where the sources disagree
| Question | What the sources say | What we did |
|---|---|---|
| Does damage fall off with range? | WARDOGS HQ and WikiTactics model a curve (full damage out to a set range, then less). The WARDOGS Builder says there is no falloff. MetaBot measured only at about 20 m. Nobody has published a long-range test. | Close-range kill times are verified; kill times at range are marked Model. |
| What does a structure cost? | Bunker: 100 (WikiTactics), 81 (Wardogs Zone, used by Groundwork), 61 (two pre-launch guides). See Building. | Disputed. Health, C4 and stages agree across sources. |
| Compound Bow unlock fee | $125,000 (WikiTactics, retail files) against $75,000 (GetRankd, closed-beta list). | We use $125,000 and updated the Unlock Tracker data. |
| AH-6R unlock fee | $250,000 (WikiTactics and AllThings; the only value that makes the Pilot ladder add up to $959,750) against $200,000 (GetRankd). | We use $250,000. |
| Humvee [M249] unlock level | Driver 20 in the in-game unlock tab (MetaBot), in WikiTactics’ ladder and vehicle page. Two older lists print 25. | We use 20. |
| PKM rate of fire | This site uses 850 RPM. MetaBot measured 865. A pre-release list says 600. WikiTactics has no value. | Medium confidence; the PKM’s kill times use 850. |
| GGX 17 rate of fire | The game data has none. MetaBot measured up to 482. This site assumes 450; a pre-release list says 600. | Thin data. |
| Shotgun damage | Listed as 25 per pellet, 8 pellets. MetaBot measured about 104 to the chest from 20 m, and nobody has measured the spread. | Thin data; shotguns are left out of the kill-time tables. |
| Compound bow damage | Listed as 77. Measured on the chest: 160.95 (×2.09) and head 177.12 (×2.30), a one-hit kill on an unarmored target. Other sites quote 85 or 161. | Thin data. |
| Armor percentages | MetaBot says the exact reduction is not shown in the game and has not been measured. DQ7 measured it: 30, 40, 55 and 65%, matching the game-data field. | Verified. |
| Hollow point and armor piercing against armor | Only Level 4 with a 5.56 rifle is measured. The Lab and the Builder differ by a few points for hollow point at Levels 1 to 3. | Model, except the one measured point. |
| Limb damage | WARDOGS Lab: ×0.90 for rifles. DQ7 measured ×0.45 on a lower limb. | We use the measured value. |
| Flakpanzer Gepard | Not listed in the shop in the retail data. A guide says $10,000 and an alpha list $8,000. | We do not list a price. |
| Helicopter bindings | Guides agree that collective is Left Shift and Left Ctrl by default and disagree on pitch, roll and yaw (mouse and A/D against W/A/S/D and Q/E). | We give no key chart; check Settings. |
| Fuel can weight | 3 kg (WikiTactics) against 5 kg (MetaBot). | Not shown. |
| Role track cap | Role tracks have unlocks up to level 50, while the XP table in the game data goes to level 100 and sums of six role levels pass 50. | We say both. |
What we left out on purpose
- Keybindings, because the guides disagree. Check Settings.
- Tier lists and “best gun” opinions. The kill-time tables and the numbers behind them are here; the choice is yours.
- Win rates and player counts, which change by the hour. The Atlas and Leaderboards show them live.
- Anything only a pre-release list says.
