Browse freely. The order is a recommendation.

Beginner / LESSON 01

Make the controls comfortable

Know which input moves each axis before your first takeoff.

Start here. Use your existing mouse, keyboard or controller.

Know this first

Pitch tilts the nose. Roll banks the helicopter. Yaw turns the nose left or right. Collective changes rotor lift; it is not a forward-speed pedal.

Choose a layout below, then check the actual bindings in your current game build. A comfortable layout lets you use collective and turn controls together without reaching awkwardly.

Check invert direction, free-look, fire, seat change and exit before flying. Change one sensitivity or assist setting at a time; recheck infantry controls after rebinding.

Choose what feels natural

Rifle aim: mouse left/right turns the nose (yaw); mouse up/down controls pitch. Keep roll on separate, reachable controls so you can bank as well as point.

This choice explains the layout; it does not change your game settings. Try both mouse layouts before choosing. No extra hardware is required.

Bindings and setup reference

Exact key names and menus can change. Compare the current in-game bindings with this older walkthrough, then test the result.

Rifle-aim mapping is also described in this community control discussion ↗. It is a layout option, not a universally better setting.

FOBDROP / FLIGHT DESK

See what the controls do

Choose a control, then try an input.

Pitch tilts the nose up or down.

Watch the nose change angle. This is different from climbing straight up.

Watch the exact chapters

Starts at the creator’s chapter marker. Watch the demonstration before trying it.

THEN / IN-GAME

Your practice run

  1. In the Firing Range, identify each axis binding before moving.
  2. Make one small input at a time and release it. Check that the response matches the diagram.
  3. Try collective plus a turn input together. Move any binding that makes this uncomfortable.

Ready to move on when…

You can name and reach all four controls, explain what each does, and return each input to neutral.

If it is not working

If the helicopter moves opposite to what you expect, stop and check direction/invert settings. Do not compensate by memorizing the wrong movement.

Your record · check only what you completed

Watching and practice are self-confirmed. A video click does not complete a task.

Beginner / LESSON 02

Lift off and control a hover

Use small corrections while staying over an open practice area.

First: comfortable bindings and all four control actions.

Know this first

Practice alone in the Firing Range. Pick a clear area with room to drift and land.

Raise collective gradually. Once airborne, use small corrections, then release them and observe the result.

Practice yaw separately from banking. Centering an input does not instantly remove the motion you already created.

Watch the exact chapters

Starts at the creator’s chapter marker. Watch the demonstration before trying it.

THEN / IN-GAME

Your practice run

  1. Lift into a low hover over your chosen area.
  2. Make a small yaw change, then stop adding yaw.
  3. Try a small pitch or roll input, recover a level attitude and return to the practice area.

Ready to move on when…

Repeat a controlled lift, small heading change and descent three times without losing control.

If it is not working

If corrections grow larger each time, reset on the ground. Reduce the input size and practice one axis again.

Your record · check only what you completed

Watching and practice are self-confirmed. A video click does not complete a task.

Beginner / LESSON 03

Land in an open area

Arrive slow and level, with room to try again.

First: repeatable takeoffs and controlled heading changes.

Know this first

Choose a large, flat landing area before beginning the approach. Keep an escape route clear.

Start slowing early. Reducing forward motion and controlling descent are separate jobs; watch both.

Level the helicopter before the final descent. If the approach becomes rushed or unstable, leave the landing attempt and set up again.

Watch the exact chapters

Starts at the creator’s chapter marker. Watch the demonstration before trying it.

THEN / IN-GAME

Your practice run

  1. Take off, fly a short circuit and return to a large clear area.
  2. Slow before descending toward the area. Make small collective corrections.
  3. Touch down under control, then repeat from a different approach direction.

Ready to move on when…

Complete three controlled open-area landings. A planned go-around is allowed; a crash is a reset.

If it is not working

If you arrive fast, choose a longer approach. Do not jump to a tight landing or J-hook yet.

Your record · check only what you completed

Watching and practice are self-confirmed. A video click does not complete a task.

Intermediate / LESSON 04

Manage a moving approach

Understand how banking changes lift and leaves less margin near the ground.

First: three controlled open-area landings.

Know this first

Tilting the helicopter redirects lift. Watch altitude as well as the direction you are moving.

Practice broad, gentle turns before steeper banks. Add one difficulty at a time.

Pick a landing point early and reduce speed before the final descent. Keep enough space to abandon an unstable attempt.

Watch the exact chapters

Starts at the creator’s chapter marker. Watch the demonstration before trying it.

THEN / IN-GAME

Your practice run

  1. Fly a broad circuit while checking altitude through each turn.
  2. Approach the same open landing area from two directions.
  3. Deliberately abandon one approach early, climb clear and set up again.

Ready to move on when…

Complete both approaches under control and explain when you would go around.

If it is not working

If turns cost unexpected altitude, return to gentle banks with more clearance. Avoid practicing low over obstacles.

Your record · check only what you completed

Watching and practice are self-confirmed. A video click does not complete a task.

Intermediate / LESSON 05

Run a Lakota supply route

Plan the delivery and return leg before carrying supplies.

First: controlled approaches in the Lakota itself; do not assume every helicopter feels identical.

Know this first

Check the current load/unload bindings and supply state before departure. The video is a workflow reference, not a promise about today’s payouts.

Choose a route, delivery area and alternate before takeoff. Tell the receiving squad what you are bringing.

After delivery, clear the area and return for the next load. Reassess threats instead of repeating an exposed route automatically.

Watch the exact chapters

Starts at the creator’s chapter marker. Watch the demonstration before trying it.

THEN / IN-GAME

Your practice run

  1. Check the supply interaction in the current build before accepting a live delivery.
  2. Plan a route and alternate, then complete one delivery when the receiving area is clear.
  3. Confirm the supplies were delivered and return with the helicopter intact.

Ready to move on when…

You can repeat the load → approach → deliver → return sequence and identify an unsafe delivery you would abandon.

If it is not working

If the supply interaction is unclear, resolve it on the ground. Do not learn the menu while hovering over a contested zone.

Your record · check only what you completed

Watching and practice are self-confirmed. A video click does not complete a task.

Intermediate / LESSON 06

Operate a ground vehicle with a crew

Learn your seat and route before spending a squad’s vehicle.

No flight prerequisite. Use a ground vehicle you can access for practice.

Know this first

Use the catalog below to distinguish purchase price from permanent unlock cost. A blank value is unverified.

Check steering, throttle, brake/reverse, view, seat change and exit in your bindings. Driver and gunner have different jobs.

Agree on a destination and stopping point. The driver watches the route; the gunner calls a target direction and needs a stable view.

THEN / IN-GAME

Your practice run

  1. Drive a short clear route, stop under control and reverse out of a confined spot.
  2. Identify each available seat and its controls while stationary.
  3. With a teammate, practice a short target call, a deliberate stop and a clear move call.

Ready to move on when…

You can stop, reverse and identify the useful seats without searching the settings during a fight.

If it is not working

If you lose orientation, stop in a clear place and reset the view. Keep crew calls short and specific.

Expert practice / LESSON 07

Practice a J-hook with room to recover

Add an advanced landing technique only after ordinary approaches are reliable.

First: repeatable landings, broad turns and a deliberate go-around. Practice without passengers.

Know this first

Watch the maneuver before attempting it. Use a large, open practice area and leave room to recover.

The turn redirects motion while you manage attitude and collective. A sharp turn by itself is not a controlled landing.

Learn the motion away from obstacles, then reduce the landing area gradually. The recording is from beta; check how your current settings respond.

Watch the exact chapters

Starts at the creator’s chapter marker. Watch the demonstration before trying it.

THEN / IN-GAME

Your practice run

  1. Watch both chapters and identify the intended landing point.
  2. Practice the sequence in open space with room to abandon it.
  3. Repeat only while the entry and recovery stay controlled. Return to an ordinary landing if they do not.

Ready to move on when…

Complete three controlled practice attempts and explain your abort point. Do not use passengers as practice.

If it is not working

A crash or uncontrolled descent means return to the approach lesson. Do not compensate by turning harder.

Your record · check only what you completed

Watching and practice are self-confirmed. A video click does not complete a task.

Expert practice / LESSON 08

Check weapons before a combat run

Learn the current sight and weapon behavior without relying on outdated aiming advice.

First: stable flight and reliable recovery; use a weapon-equipped vehicle available to you.

Know this first

Identify the weapon, fire control, ammunition display and sight in the current build. Older Season 01 reticle guides were removed from this course after creator corrections.

Use a practice target in the Firing Range where supported. Compare the aim point with visible impacts from a stable position before adding motion.

Plan a short firing opportunity and an exit. Do not keep pointing at a target until you lose control or fly into an obstacle.

THEN / IN-GAME

Your practice run

  1. Identify the current sight and fire control before shooting.
  2. Compare aim and impacts while stable, then repeat with gentle movement where practice facilities allow.
  3. Practice ending the attack and returning to controlled flight.

Ready to move on when…

You can describe the behavior you observed in your current build and leave the firing run under control.

If it is not working

If the sight behavior is unclear or your vehicle is unavailable for practice, leave this checkpoint incomplete. No verified current combat video is assigned yet.

Your record · check only what you completed

Watching and practice are self-confirmed. A video click does not complete a task.

Expert practice / LESSON 09

Put the route together

Complete a planned flight and make the decision to abort when needed.

First: the flight lessons for your intended role. Ground driving and weapons remain separate skills.

Know this first

Choose the vehicle, task, route, landing area and alternate before departure.

Carry out the flight with the controls you practiced. A successful run includes a controlled landing and a plan for the return.

Review one mistake and repeat the relevant drill. Completion here is your own practice record, not a verified game rank.

THEN / IN-GAME

Your practice run

  1. Brief a short route and alternate, then take off and fly it.
  2. Make a controlled approach and landing. Use a go-around if the approach is not stable.
  3. Return safely, explain one decision and select the next skill to improve.

Ready to move on when…

Repeat the route under control and explain when you would cancel the run. Mark only the skills you actually practiced.

If it is not working

Go back to the lesson that caused trouble. The course stays open so you can revisit any exercise.

Your record · check only what you completed

Watching and practice are self-confirmed. A video click does not complete a task.

Why FOBDROP picked this lesson

Viewers describe progressing from repeated crashes to a complete takeoff, flight and return landing after practice. The chapter sequence isolates one action at a time. Several comments correct the old controller-remapping limitation; this is a flight-practice pick, not a current controller setup guide.

87 distinct public comments sampled across Top and Newest, October 28, 2026.

How these tutorials were selected

We checked creator descriptions, chapters and public Top/Newest comment samples, including corrections and reports of confusion. First-flight picks need a clear sequence and specific practice tasks. Later techniques and hardware references are labeled separately. Older aiming and armor lessons with important corrections were removed from the recommendations. Complete transcripts were unavailable, so this is not a claim that every moment was reviewed or retested in-game. Comments describe individual experiences, not guaranteed results. Videos remain credited to their creators; the flight desk and practice prompts are FOBDROP’s.
